Advent is a wondrous time of hope and longing. But what kind of hope can we have in such anxious times?

Cynthia Bourgeault’s book Mystical Hope invites us to engage in a mystical hope, one that does not centre itself on starry-eyed dreams or personal aspiration. Instead the author tells us about a hope that is a quality of being based on our relationship with God and one another right here and now. When we consent to a hope that does not depend on a desired future but on the love of God, we begin
to see in new ways. A mystical hope can fill us with a vibrancy that gives us the strength and
capacity for right action in the world. Such hope draws us into the braided stream of divine love
that is everywhere around us, even in times of trouble.

Please join us for contemplative prayer and discussion of Mystical Hope.
