Was Paul converted or did he experience a revelation that changed his perspective? Richard thinks it was the latter. Such experiences, what the Scriptures call metanoia, can be revolutionary to be sure, but they are often evolutionary in origin. They are rooted in our life experience and our reflections upon the traditions that have shaped us. They are moments that help become more fully who we were created to be and to become.
